Emergency Call – Floods in Burutsi/Keshebere, Walikale (North Kivu)
During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, January 13, 2025, a devastating flood struck the community of Burutsi/Keshebere in the Walikale territory of North Kivu.
This disaster caused significant human and material losses, severely affecting children, women, and entire families.
We regret the loss of our members and beneficiaries, as well as the destruction of the organization’s material assets, which are essential for carrying out our community actions.
Already affected by armed conflicts and persistent insecurity, these populations are facing a humanitarian emergency related to climate hazards.
The assessment of the damage is ongoing, but the needs are immediate and critical.
